Technical lead across concurrent client platforms. I run discovery with the client, design the architecture, own the infrastructure it runs on, and coordinate the team that builds it.

• Lead end-to-end system design across multiple concurrent client platforms: translate business requirements into architecture, service boundaries, domain models and delivery plans.
• Set technical direction and defend it. Transport choices, database choices and consistency models are decisions I make and then bring the team through, including reviewing the code that comes out the other side.
• Own deployment and production environments across client platforms: server configuration, release, rollback, environment and secrets management, domains and TLS.
• Coordinate with partners, vendors and engineering teams across Canada, the United States, India, China, Egypt, Algeria and Saudi Arabia, working across time zones and engineering cultures.
• Worked directly with an overseas IoT hardware manufacturer to map their proprietary lock protocol, establishing what their signals meant and how their system expected to be addressed before integration was possible.
• Directed an external ERP vendor engineering team in another country through a bidirectional integration: specified what their side needed to expose, agreed the contract in both directions, and kept both teams moving to it.

Sole Backend Engineer for a travel and booking platform, owning development, infrastructure and security.

• Led backend development as the only engineer: wrote, debugged and tested both new and inherited code.
• Designed and built a custom payment gateway on Stripe, integrated with the company bank accounts.
• Managed AWS infrastructure, server maintenance and update cycles to keep the platform stable.
• Wrote a Bash automation that collapsed a recurring two to three hour AWS task down to minutes.
• Optimised database performance and implemented changes to keep the system scalable under growth.
• Owned the company security effort: identified vulnerabilities and implemented hardening across data and transaction paths.

Co-founded a three-sided digital marketplace unifying players, individual sellers, retail shops and local developers.

• Defined the vision, roadmap and technical architecture across backend, frontend and DevOps, aligning delivery with business goals.
• Built a three-sided marketplace strategy serving players, individual sellers and retail shops to maximise reach and network effects.
• Scaled a buyer-facing catalogue past 180,000 products, kept continuously synchronised against a third-party supplier API.
• Engineered the supplier synchronisation as a bounded worker pool with backoff, retry and cursor overlap, so a clock-skew gap between two systems cannot silently drop products.
• Built multi-currency pricing resolved by request origin with a tiered exchange-rate fallback, and money truncated rather than rounded at the payment boundary.
• Integrated a payment gateway end to end with automated digital key delivery after settlement, so a purchase completes with no manual step.

Ticket booking platform for events and workshops, from concept through production.

• Led the end-to-end development process: backend and frontend architecture, database design and API integration.
• Built payment processing with regional gateways, with security and performance as first-order concerns rather than later passes.
• Built a QR-based ticket scanning flow for fast validation over a secured API.
• Owned coding, debugging, hosting and optimisation, and took part in the strategic discussions defining the product.
• Worked with marketing to align features and user experience with what the market actually wanted.

Teaching, technical support and running university-scale events.

• Teach first-year students to program and track their progress through an online community I set up and run.
• Diagnose and resolve student computer problems by walking them through identifying the fault rather than only fixing it.
• Coordinate with managers on class scheduling to keep the process smooth for students and professors.
• Sole manager of the university Touch Typers Tournament, online and in person.
• Lead event manager for a hackathon: logistics, team coordination, and resolving internal and external conflicts through to a successful event.
